We are seeking an experienced Manager of Business Development for our client’s California Buildings District to lead business development efforts and strategies located in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Create and execute strategic plan and objectives around client development and business growth.
- Develop ideas to execute and is continually learning and growing while understanding the business.
- Dedicated and one who partners well, but is independent minded to get opportunities going and ideas formulated.
- Connector and relator with others; strength on both sides as an impactful communicator and tremendous listener.
- Strategic insight leader who is proficient in assessing the effectiveness of narratives/proposals.
- Someone who has ownership and takes responsibility for the pursuit/proposal process.
- Someone with a consistently positive demeanor.
- Resilient to work through anticipated ups and downs whilst being persistent in achieving best outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years progressive leadership experience in the AECM industry.
- Must have a strong network of San Diego connections.
- Proven experience in business development; forming relationships with Owners, Developers, Architects, Movers and Shakers.
- Demonstrated ability to secure new work and clients on signature projects with a range of project sizes.
- A degree in a construction discipline or business is preferred.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships in both the private and public sector.
- Possesses a detailed knowledge of development, design and construction terminology with an understanding of construction and design systems, building types and costs.
- Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce CRM.
- Experience training, coaching and utilizing LEAN principles throughout the pursuit, proposal and presentation process.
- Understands and abides by all government processes and regulations.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication and interpersonal skills are a must. Impeccable speaking, grammar and writing skills are required.
