About the Role:

  • Lead the development of accurate, competitive cost estimates for complex projects exceeding $100 million.
  • Analyze plans, specifications, and drawings to identify material, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Conduct market research and negotiate with subcontractors for best pricing.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure project profitability.
  • Prepare and present well-documented estimates to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Conduct market research and negotiations to obtain competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Identify and assess potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to control costs and ensure project profitability.
  • Prepare and present clear, concise, and well-documented estimates to internal stakeholders and potential clients.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates are aligned with project scope, schedule, and design.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of heavy civil construction estimating experience, preferably in highways, bridges, transit and rail.
  • Proven track record of successfully estimating and bidding $100 million+ projects with past successes.
  • Strong understanding of cost estimating principles, methodologies, and software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not essential.
