Job Title: Director of Preconstruction

Summary:

As a Director of Preconstruction, you will be responsible for leading the preconstruction team in bidding, estimating, and client relations for the hospitality sector in the Las Vegas market. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our company is successful in securing and executing high-profile hotel and casino projects in the vibrant and competitive Nevada market.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement preconstruction strategies for the hospitality sector, aligning with project goals and company objectives.
  • Lead and manage a team of preconstruction professionals, including estimators, project controls, and schedulers.
  • Oversee the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates for a wide range of hospitality projects, including hotels, casinos, and resorts.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify and assess potential opportunities.
  • Negotiate contracts with owners, architects, and engineers, ensuring that our company’s interests are protected.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, building trust and rapport with key decision-makers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences, showcasing our expertise and expanding the company’s network.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and developments, ensuring that preconstruction processes are efficient and effective.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the preconstruction team.
  • Manage and track project schedules and budgets, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Conduct preconstruction reviews, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare and present preconstruction reports and presentations to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 14 years of experience in preconstruction for the hospitality sector.
  • Proven track record of success in bidding, estimating, and client relations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Primavera P6 or similar project management/scheduling software.
  • Experience with hospitality project types, including hotels, casinos, and resorts.
  • Familiarity with the Las Vegas market and its unique construction challenges.

Additional Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in managing and mentoring a team of preconstruction professionals.
  • Expertise in preparing and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to conduct value engineering studies to identify cost savings opportunities.
  • Experience with estimating software, such as Accubid or Procore.
  • Familiarity with the bidding process for public and private projects.
