Are you a seasoned leader seeking a diverse and impactful challenge in the growing Southeast market? Hamilton Mayer is working closely with a well-known general contractor. This opportunity is a pivotal role in overseeing preconstruction activities for a variety of exciting projects taking place in Charlotte and Atlanta.

In this critical role, you will:

  • Lead a skilled preconstruction team, fostering collaboration and ensure efficient project delivery within budget and schedule.
  • Navigate the competitive landscape, to identify and secure high-profile opportunities to help execute project outcomes successfully, strategically positioning the business for success.
  • Cultivate strong client relationships, which involves building trust and exceeding expectations throughout the preconstruction phase of the projects.
  • Oversee preconstruction services for a diverse portfolio of projects, where you will be responsible for contributing expert preconstruction coordination with the owner and senior management.
  • This opportunity will be pivotal in overseeing a casino mega project, a state-of-the-art courthouse, and a confidential data-center, all valued between $600m to $1bn, and are located between Charlotte and Atlanta.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing preconstruction teams through a collaborative environment, ensure efficient teamwork, and empower individuals to contribute their expertise.
  • Spearhead the preconstruction process for various projects, oversight of bidding, estimating, scheduling, and other preconstruction tasks for diverse projects.
  • Develop strong client relationships, build trust and manage expectations through clear communication and proactive problem-solving.
  • Ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards by Implementing strategies to optimize project performance and meet all project objectives.
  • Contribute to the growth and success of the preconstruction department via continuously improve processes, implement new technologies, and collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless project delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in preconstruction management within the construction industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and motivating preconstruction teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in bidding, estimating, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and risk management principles.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in construction software and technology (e.g., BIM, estimating software).
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Professional license (e.g., PE) a plus, but not essential.
